5 New Boutique Hotels in Sydney You Have To Visit In 2022

Sydney's boutique hotels are one for the 'gram.

Hotels can be more than just a place to hit the pillow; in Sydney, they can be the destination itself. Gin happy hours, communal workspaces, killer playlists, in-room guitars, hip bar and cafe outlets; it’s holiday accommodation reimagined, and we are all for it.

To make your getaway that extra boujee, consider one of these boutique hotels in Sydney that you'll find hard to check out from.

Ace Hotel Sydney

47-53 Wentworth Ave, Surry Hills. From $329.

It's only natural to start with Ace. The hipster American hotel chain is making its first foray into the Southern Hemisphere this year with the opening of Ace Hotel Sydney, and we couldn't be more excited to check in.

Collaborative, creativity and community are part of the hotel chain's ethos, with Ace Hotel Sydney championing local artists and architecture into Surry Hills's newest social sanctum. What's old is new again with the hotel's frontage, a heritage 1915-style Federation warehouse on its modern 10-storey building. Inside, expect to see a mish-mash of glam and chic designs complimented with curated sculptures and mounted artworks.

When the hotel opens in October this year, expect it to be nothing short of a vibe.

Crystalbrook Albion

21 Little Albion St, Surry Hills NSW 2010. From $240.

Another Sydney boutique hotel to check out within the same locale is Crystalbrook Albion.

Housed in a former 1903 school convent, the 25-room hotel in Surry Hills intertwines heritage and contemporary design and would excite travelers seeking out clubhouse feels.

With its modest street appearance, intimate rooftop, gallery displays, and redefined hotel services, it's an urban retreat a short stroll away from Central Station. With hotel services such as craft gin happy hours, an honour bar system and a welcome mat laid out for your furry sidekick, you'll find it hard to go back to stock standard accommodation, i.e. vanilla vibes.

Although hotel rooms may be on the cosy side, they will have you feeling inspired to rework your bedroom interior design with its art deco furnishings and colourful wallpapers that are simply très chic.

And if you are tired of the Sydney hustle and bustle below, there's always a rooftop pool to cool off and Zen out.

Besides its convenient 10/10 location, the 172-room hotel is a visual masterpiece. With its sleek communal spaces, plush furnishings and luxe art deco designs, this hotel was built to be 'grammed.

The hotel also features in-room yoga-mats (on request), hosted evening social hours, custom-designed Kimpton Lekker bikes for hire and a range of pop-up events and experiences to make filling up your days an easy task.
